A taste of Melbourne

Today is going to be special. First, Tour Mom has rallied and will be joining us. Second, we will get an inside view of this city we are in down under. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So today I plan to share a city tour through pictures.

After a hearty breakfast, Princess, junior silverback, and GOAT and I are off to meet our tour guide.
She said she would be under a blue umbrella.
Emily, our guide, sharing what we would see
Our first stop. The treasury building. Where they stored the gold during the gold rush.
The flag of the First Nation people. Black for their skin. Yellow for the sun. Red for the soil.
A replica of the largest gold nugget found in the world here in Australia. Princess wanted one!
In case you question the above picture.
Into a museum where the architect also designed the louvre in France. Look familiar?
GOAT shared this with me. We only saw two from far away. Note the small head in the pouch.

For the next few pictures, I took some snaps of something Melbourne is famous for. Street art. Through alleys and behind buildings artists have left incredible paintings. Enjoy.

The famous ac/dc lane.
Yes. This is Cyndi Lauper.
Another thing Melbourne is famous for is coffee. This one was called Melbourne Magic!
The princess and me. It was great having her back!
The train station.
The entrance to Chinatown. Second largest in the world.
Check out this building. If you look closely you can see a picture of a First Nation person.
Best kangaroo burgers in Melbourne. The ladies said no.
The first tea room in Melbourne.
One of the many arcades where you shop.
How long would a floor like this last in America. Over 100 years old.
The crew at lunch.
I have never seen this before in all my travels. A urinal waist high! Had to be careful.
Our lunch place. A bit old but excellent beer and food.
This was outside the lunch place. A place to water your horse in the old days. Cave creek could use one!

All in all, it was a special day. I hope you enjoyed your visual tour of Melbourne.
